Meeting called to order by Kim Smith at 6:35 pm.

PRESIDENTS REPORT: KIM SMITH

 

Soup labels - We have 10,000 points we can use in the magazine to order things we would like.  We would like to spend them

on outdoor stuff.

 

Ordered a banner sign to use at various Pleasant Hill Elementary events for $90.

 

Indoor recess games bought by Kim for the kindergarten and part of the second grade.

 

VICE PRESEDENTS REPORT: JENNIFER BRAAFFHART---no report

 

SECRETARY REPORT: CORRI KENDALL

Gift cards were bought for Target for the custodians and the lunch ladies for the hard work they do for our school.

 

Received a Thank You note from LeAnn and Mary for that.

 

TREASURER REPORT: MICHELLE BODRNSTEINER

 

5TH grade class party is planned for May 29th

 

Treasures Report read and approved by Donna Britt and seconded by Melanie Kale.

 

Taxes were filed for 2004 and 2005 in April.  We are all caught up and taxes are filed up until current.  We are waiting to

see if we will have to pay penalties.

 

Again reminded that we need to make a better documentation of the committee chairperson’s responsibilities so when that

even is passed along the person knows what to do and has a time frame on when to do it.

 

PRINCIPALS REPORT: TERRIE PRICE

 

Basic reading inventory was taken this week.  Includes accuracy, fluency and comprehension.  Continuing to battle tardiness

and absences. 

 

Budget and planning meeting, (Jan. 11th) please jot down ideas u would like to consider.  Staffing for next year a topic

 

Friendship Party: Valentines for sale - Panther K-kids and student council will be selling candy grams.

 

ITBS pump up week (use valentines sale money to buy things to keep kids motivated)

 

Playground equipment ordering (Equipment and soccer nets)

 

Clothes Pantry (We need shelves and drawers to store items and people to organize)

 

Tile Wall (shared brochures) and explained

 

The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley will be held Thursday April 28th

Given $894 towards the bussing of students by the district.

 

Mrs. Peterson is requesting money for recorders that families maybe can’t afford.  

 

PBS (Positive Behavioral Supports)  Most conduct reports happen during the lunch recess. Most reports are about disrespecting

others.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

Fall Spirit Wear: Made $184 off Spirit wear this fall.

 

Party time fundraiser:  Made $7893.  Some small delivery problems and some orders were wrong.

 

Class Photos:  $1109 made for the 5th Grade Class Party.  Planning is underway.

 

Quiznos night is Jan,. 17th. 45 students attended in November.  Will wait and see what happens this month and vote on whether

to keep Quiznos or go back to Wendy’s.

 

Yearbook is complete.  Andrea Clark wanted to be sure to keep December as the deadline so everyone can get a yearbook for

free.

 

Holiday Shop:  Due to the weather the morning shop was very slow.  Pleasant Hill Parks and recreation gave vouchers during the

evening bingo.  We are -$313.11 but still have a check for $590 from the city coming.  During the bookfair which was held at the

same time we made $750 in sales which gave us $350 in books.  Jennifer will look at hardcopy for staff and order books for those

wanting books. 

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Polk County Grant:  Grant is due at the end of February and we will be looking at a few options.  Dance Revolution, Speed

stackers, pedometers and soccer nets have been requested.  Also an Electronic Sign out front was discussed.  Jennifer is looking

into the quotes on that.

 

Friendship Party:  February 14th from 2:15 until 3:00 pm.  Sheila Warrick is planning a small craft and a game.  Students will also

have the opportunity to open and read their valentines. PTO will provide prepackaged snack also.

 

Spring Spirit Wear:  Voting at the next meeting to see if we want to do the spirit wear or the Field Day t-shirts again this year.  They

went over well last year.

 

OPEN FORUM:

 

Mrs. Snyder would like $90 for the tassels on the preschool graduation hats.  Vote was taken and approved.

 

Band would like to play at the February Meeting and the 4th and 5th Grade Choir would like to sing at the April Meeting.

 

Magazine Fundraiser will start February 8th.

 

Meeting adjourned 8:20 pm

 

Next meeting will be February 12th at 6:30 pm in the art room.  Childcare will be provided by Nanny-2-Shoes.
