I grew up on the East side of Des Moines.  I attended Wallace Elementary, Hiatt Junior High, and North High School.  I graduated from Grand View College in 1998.  After graduation I was a substitute teacher for a year.  I then taught at Studebaker and Watrous Schools for a year.  I have been at Pleasant Hill for the last 7 years.

 My husband, Travis, and I have been married for 9 years.  We have 2 children.  Zackery is 6 and in Kindergarten.  Kristin is 2 and spends her days with Grandma.
