Cristin Nicodemus, Fifth Grade

I attended Grand View College.  I graduated in 1999, majoring in Elementary Education.  I received endorsements in the area of Reading, Language Arts, and Early Childhood.  I am starting my eighth year of teaching.  My first year I taught first and second grade reading in Newton.  Then, I taught four years at Wallace Elementary in Des Moines.  There, I taught fourth and fifth grade and was also the third-fifth grade Literacy Leader.  This is my third year at Pleasant Hill teaching fifth grade.  My husband, Mike, is the Dean of Students at River Woods Elementary in Des Moines.  We have been married for seven years.  On June 1st 2005, we had our first child, Brett Charles. He is a year old already. Last summer, I graduated with my Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Viterbo University in Wisconsin.  We also have a Miniature Dachshund named Snickers.  I enjoy spending time with my son Brett and the rest of my family, friends, and of course, Snickers!  I also enjoy shopping and quilting.
