Hansel,
NurseMy name is Joyce Hansel and I serve as the school nurse at Pleasant Hill Elementary School. I am a registered nurse with 29 years experience, 18 years as a school nurse. I love serving our students, families, and staff. I enjoy school nursing because it allows me the opportunity to use the health office as an extension of the classroom. I like to take advantage of the “teachable moments” I have with students when they are ill or injured and visit the nurse’s office. My husband and I enjoy spending time with each other and our family. We have two terrific adult children and beautiful daughter in-law. When not working, we enjoy being around home but during the warmer months, we do a lot of camping and golfing. Taking our 4 year old Brittany Spaniel for his daily runs (yes, even on those below zero winter days) is fun and brings us great pleasure and much laughter. One of my favorite quotes is: “One hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove…but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a CHILD.” ---Anonymous |
