Jayne Logsdon,
Instructional Strategist
I am an Instructional Strategist, which is a fancy way of saying
that I have some extra training which is sometimes helpful
when teaching children with varieties of learning needs. I
enjoy collaborating with my colleagues to design lessons that
engage and challenge all students. Last summer, I completed my
Masters Degree, with an emphasis on early childhood literacy.
I love my job at Pleasant Hill because we have such a caring
and dedicated staff, awesome leadership, and fabulous
families.
I live near Altoona – what I have affectionately called “the
beginning of the country.” However, we may be in the market for
a home further away from town to accommodate the newest addition
to our family, Lucky. She is a gorgeous, four-year-old,
thoroughbred horse, given to us by a total stranger. Long
story, but we were “lucky” to be in the right place at the right
time. My husband, David, and I also have 4 grown children and 2
one-year-old grandchildren, Blaine and Elle. We are constantly
amazed at how smart and funny they are. We are fortunate to
have all our family in the Des Moines area and enjoy spending
time together.
At one time, I used to enjoy gardening, camping (in a tent), and
fishing, but I spent my summer studying, playing with Lucky, and
chasing grandchildren every day. So, our boat remains broken,
bedrolls – rolled-up, and I currently have more weeds than
vegetables, but don’t seem to care…funny how priorities change.
