Glenda Thomason, Office Manager

My name is Glenda Thomason. I am the office manager of Pleasant Hill Elementary. I was born in Oskaloosa, IA. When I was just a little girl my parents moved us to a farm in Pella, IA. I started school at a country school in rural Pella. I have one brother younger than myself. When I was in 4^th grade our family moved to the city of Pella and so I went to town school. I could not imagine what the teacher was going to do with all of her time because she was only gong to be teaching one class. I soon found out she kept quite busy. I graduated from Pella High School and went to Thompson’s Beauty School and worked for 6 years as a hair dresser. During that time I got married to my husband, Carroll. We have been married 35 years. When I had my first son, Christopher, I decided to stay home and be a full time mom.

We have three children, Christopher, Tate and Tanya.
Chris is a commercial real estate salesman for Ruhl and Ruhl. He lives in Johnston.

Tate is married and has a little boy named Isaac. He is 18 months old and a beautiful little boy. Michael is our step grandson. He is 16 years old and into drama at Kimberly High School in Appleton, WI. We are going to see Michael in the play Beauty and the Beast in Nov. Michael is going to be the Beast. Tate works as a cost accountant for Kimberly Clark in Wisconsin.

Tanya is married and has two children. Samuel is 6 and a 1^st grader at Willowbrook Elementary in Altoona, Ia. Sophia is 3. If you ask her what her favorite thing to do is. She will tell you to go shopping with mommy and grandma. Tanya works at Mercy Hospital.

My favorite things to do are – spend time with my family, reading, working in our yard and shopping with Sophie. And of course working at Pleasant Hill Elementary is one of my most favorite things to do.
