Erin Lowe, Third Grade

I was born in Des Moines at Lutheran Hospital and raised in Des Moines.  I graduated from East High School in 1995.  I attended Minnesota State University (Mankato) and the University of Northern Iowa.  I was a member of the Swimming Team at both Universities. I also played one season of Rugby while at UNI. I graduated from UNI in 2000, and began teaching in Des Moines Public Schools that fall.

I taught 1/2 day Kindergarten at Moore Elementary in Beaverdale, and I also taught Title Math at Findley Elementary before coming to Pleasant Hill.  My husband Patrick has taught at Hoover High School for 6 years, where he also coaches baseball. 

Growing up sports were a big part of our lives.  I swam competitively for close to 15 years, played soccer for about 9 years, tennis for 6 years.  We were always busy and moving from activity to activity.  I also played several instruments including the piano, violin, flute, oboe, and finally settling with the saxophone, I played the saxophone for 4 years, playing both the alto saxophone and the tenor saxophone. These days I really enjoy golfing.

My husband Patrick and I live in the Grandview Park Neighborhood, just off of the golf course (so we can golf all summer).  We enjoy traveling and are planning a spring break trip to Colorado Springs to visit friends. We will also try to get to the Cubs spring training in Arizona.  We love all the Chicago sports teams (other then the SOX), especially the Cubs and the 1st place Bears.  We go to Chicago every summer to take in games at Wrigley Field.
