I am an “East Sider”, living in the Sheridan Park area for 35 years, and have been employed by the Des Moines School District 23 years. 

I grew up on a farm in southern Missouri with one sister and two brothers, coming to Iowa right after graduation.  I worked for Northwestern Bell my first year in DM then became a stay-at-home mom with my 3 children.  My daughter is a teacher with DSM and has 2 children, my middle son has one child, and my youngest son has none.

My hobbies are babysitting grandchildren, square dancing, reading, quilting, crocheting, and gardening – camping and fishing when I can find someone to babysit my two labs.
