Terrie Price, Principal

Hello, I’m Terrie Price, new principal at Pleasant Hill Elementary.  I’m very excited to be in such a wonderful school with great students, staff, and parents.  My motto is “What’s Best for Kids-Whatever It Takes!” 

Some background information on me.  I enjoyed my 18 years of growing up on a farm getting to bale hay, walk beans, ride my pony, and show animals at the fair.  In my spare time I loved to drive my go-cart and swim. My teen years were busy with school, sports, and working at Hy-Vee.   I graduated from Rockford, Iowa High School in 1986.  I attended Simpson College in Indianola from 1986-1990, a reading endorsement from Drake in 1992, and my masters in educational administration in 2001, from UNI.  I will be starting my eighteenth year of education this year.  I taught grades 2, 4, and 5, for eleven years.  During my teaching career I was also an athletic coach for track, basketball, volleyball, and cross-country.  I have been a principal for six terrific years.  I believe learning should be fun and challenging. Our kids are WORTH IT!

I have a very active and fun family.  My husband, Steve, is a teacher at Lawson Elementary in Johnston and assistant wrestling coach.  I have two sons, Travis, a 5^th grader and Zach, a second grader.  My boys are runners and wrestlers!  We like to run 5K road races as a family!   I also am busy in the church and love to go to movies!
