Angelia
Goings, Instructional Strategist
I grew up on a farm in Hinton, IA, a
tiny town in northwest Iowa. I graduated high school in 2000.
I went on to college at Kirkwood Community College where I
received my A.A degree in Career Disabilities. I then
continued college at Mount Mercy College, where I received my
bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Reading, and
Instructional Strategist K-6 in 2007.
I am entering my 4th year of
teaching in the Des Moines district. I have spent the past
three years in the teaching K-1 special education at Findley
Elementary. In May 2010, I completed my Master’s degree from
Wayne State College in Curriculum and Instruction.
I have been married for 3 years to Cody
Goings. We have a wonderful 7 month old son, Owen, and three
mini dachshunds, KC, Chief, and Herky. I enjoy spending time
with my family, going on walks with the Owen and the dogs,
boating, reading, and watching the Hawkeyes and Chief’s play
football.
