Amanda Parker, 1st Grade
I
grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where I graduated from Alburnett
Community Schools in 1996. I attended Simpson College
and graduated in 2000 with a degree Elementary Education and
Liberal Arts. I also received endorsements in Reading
and Early Childhood. I got my Masters of Education in
December of 2006 from Iowa State University.
This
is my fifth year at Pleasant Hill. I spent my first 3
years at Pleasant Hill as an Instructional Strategist. I
am in my second year as a first grade teacher. I love
teaching 1st grade! It is exciting to see the
students make so much growth in first grade. Pleasant
Hill is a wonderful place to teach. Prior to Pleasant
Hill, I taught at Willard Elementary for one year and Hoyt
Middle School for 5 years.
I
live on the east side of Pleasant Hill with my 3 wonderful
children, Madison 3rd grade, Mackenzie
Kindergarten, and Graydon Parker born April 10th,
2011.
We
spend a lot of time together as a family doing fun things like
playing games indoors and outdoors.
We
enjoy cheering for our favorite team the Iowa Hawkeye's.
My daughters enjoys playing soccer. I am looking forward
to another great year at Pleasant Hill!
