I grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where I graduated from Alburnett Community Schools in 1996.  I attended Simpson College and graduated in 2000 with a degree Elementary Education and Liberal Arts.  I also received endorsements in Reading and Early Childhood.  I got my Masters of Education along with my Instructional Strategist from Iowa State University. 

This is my third year as an Instructional Strategist in 1^st and 5^th grades at Pleasant Hill.  It is a wonderful place to teach.  Prior to Pleasant Hill, I taught at Willard Elementary for one year and Hoyt Middle School for 5 years.

My husband Justin was born and raised in the Des Moines area.  He works for the Department of Public Safety in the State of Iowa.  We have been married for 9 years and we have two children, Madison and Mackenzie.  We spend a lot of time together as a family doing fun things like playing games indoors and outdoors.   

We also enjoy watching sporting events.  Our favorite teams are the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and the Kansas City Royals.  My oldest daughter Madison enjoys playing soccer and softball.  She started first grade this fall.    

I am looking forward to another great year at Pleasant Hill!
