My name is Amanda Horstman. I have been teaching kindergarten for 5 years. I live here in Pleasant Hill with my husband Fred and our four children. My step-son Jake will be a freshman this year at SEP High School, my son Haden who is 6 and will be in first grade here at Pleasant Hill, my son Harlan who is three and my son Hudson who was just born on July 20th 2010. We rarely have a dull moment or a moment of down time at my house! I love teaching kindergarten and being with my students. Every year is a new and great adventure and every student has the ability to learn and achieve. I welcome, love, and accept each child for the individual that they are and love that I am able to learn from my kindergartners as well as have them learn from me. In my spare time I enjoy being with my kids, going to Hawkeye football games and doing anything that involves being outdoors.
