Dylan had 101 pledges and is the winner of our Walkathon “Be our Grand Marshall” contest. Dylan will lead our walk on Saturday morning and will ride in a golf car donated by Golf Cars of Iowa and driven by a Pleasant Hill school dad, Norm Daughenbaugh. Please stay behind the lead police car and golf car as you walk.

 Other notes for the Walk:

          ·        Wear your Walkathon shirt!! If you didn’t purchase a shirt-it’s okay, just wear your favorite Pleasant Hill spirit wear, or something RED!!!

 ·        No parking in the circle drive. Please park on the street or on the playground.

 ·        Before the walk-check out the class baskets and buy more raffle tickets!!

 ·        Our walkathon route has changed (because of the construction on Pleasant Hill Blvd.) From the school we will go east on Oakwood to Fairview. We will go west (down the hill) on Fairview to Pleasant Hill Blvd, then north on PH Blvd Maple. From Maple to Hickory and back to Oakwood-and to the school.

 ·        We will have Pleasant Hill Police support, so please thank them for their help in keeping our students and families safe. Our police chief has asked that when we’re walking in the street, we need to use only the northbound lane on PH Blvd. Adults, please keep students between you and the curb. Please keep students out of the Hy-Vee parking lot-no cutting through, it’s too dangerous!

 ·        We will have a water station on the grassy area near Hy-Vee, so stop by for rest and refreshment. (Thank you to Hy-Vee for donating our water!!)

 ·        Check out the city’s electronic sign as you walk by! Go Panthers!!!

 ·        Back at the school we’ll have our DJ service (donated by Complete Music) playing songs-dance in the circle and enjoy lunch. We will then announce the rest of our winners and draw the class basket raffle winners.

The purpose of this event is to raise “funds and FUN!”

So come ready for FUN!!!
